I’m not sure where the dimensions of the PlayBook given on Wikipedia are from, and it’s likely that they are not entirely accurate. But comparing the figures: 130mm x 194mm x 9.7mm, with those of the iPad: 242.8m x 189.7mm x 13.4mm. So that the ratios are 54%, 102%, and 72% respectively. Whilst the weight of the PlayBook at (roughly) 400g is 59% that of the iPad (at 680g). So whilst most of the comparisons so far seem to be on it’s thickness (thin-ness?!) and weight. It’s not so difficult to be lighter when it’s nearly half as high. I’m particularly interested on finding out what battery they have managed to squeeze into its slight form factor.
Another thought is how it compares with the Kindle in physical terms, because of the obvious positioning of any new tablet in the eBook reader market. The Kindle has dimensions: 190mm x 123mm x 8.51mm, and weighs 240g. It has been mentioned that some people find the iPad a little heavy for one handed use, i.e. when reading an eBook.
Here’s a comparison using sizeasy.com:

Where the iPad is in pink, the PlayBook is in green, and the Kindle 3 is in yellow. For additional comparison I have the iPhone (pale silhouette at the front) and Kindle DX (purple) on there.
